So you’ve decided to go on a plant-based diet! Congrats, I am so proud of  you for taking this step. Finding the most realisitc tips and hacks for going plant-based isn’t always easy. 

To be honest choosing to have more plant foods than animal foods in my diet has been one of the BEST decisions I’ve made in my life. The most important thing to know is it’s not just a diet; it’s a lifestyle!

What’s great about this transition is you’re already halfway there, because the truth is, you’ve always prepared plant-based foods— 

Like most diets there’s no right or wrong way to begin.

Some choose the fast track, while others like yourself are choosing the most realistic way which could be gradually bringing in new habits to replace the old ones, and before long tah-dah, you’re entirely plant-based.

Ditch the Dairy: For drinking and cooking, replacing cow milk with UNSWEETENED plant milk works best, then gradually working your way up to other options. 

Some alternatives to ditch the dairy would be to try replacing your yogurts, half and half, and spreads with nut-based or other non-dairy options. 

Don’t worry about the calcium, this option gives you just as much vitamins and minerals your body needs for growing strong healthy bones.

Meatless Mondays: A catchy phrase with some eye-catching recipes. So go on and dust off your those cookbooks and fix your old favorites just without the meat.

Eggs Exit left: With so many options to go eggless, the possibilities are endless. Many brands such as Just Egg, Follow your Heart’s Vegan Egg, or Bob Red Mill’s egg replacer are all packed with nutrient-rich ingredients and a texture just like eggs.

Swap the Sweets: Need I say more?! With many alternatives swapping honey for agave or better yet coconut nectar should be no problem.
