I hate to be the one pessimistic writer at this time, but someone has to talk about this.

If you didn’t know Jamaican Black Castor Oil (JBCO) is an age-old wonder oil that has amazing properties that leave you with glowing skin and hair to die for.

The first time I found out about JBCO, I was at my cousin’s salon. I had just finished getting micro braids for the fall.

So I guess you’re thinking-why would there be a dark side to something so good?

The thing is JBCO, in particular, is comprised of the castor seeds in such a way that it produces a richer, thicker, and darker oil. Which means even better for the results your looking to have.

Most hair industry manufacturers know this and seek out to replicate it. This is done by taking regular castor oil and dying dark to imitate that of the real JBCO.

Anytime you are searching for JBCO you are looking for ricinus communis. This should always be the first ingredient you see on your JBCO container. I highly recommend doing this to ensure you are buying pure JBCO and no counterfeits.

Have you heard of this problem? Do you think the natural hair community is being ripped off with all these products filled with additives? Give me your thoughts.

‘Till the next chat, make magic with your hair,
