So of course you all have figured out by now I live a plant based lifestyle. I often try to find foods that are cruelty free that mimic some of what I used to eat.

So your probably wondering about these mushrooms that have jerky plastered all over the label. First let me say this is definelty a don’t knock it till you try it kind of food, due to most of us growing up on slim jims and other popular jerky.

Since transitioning I’ve had the hardest time finding vegan jerky that’s soy free, nut & gluten free (for the sake of one of my kids). Well I was in for a shock when I happened to be on the web and ran into 2 very popular vegan soy free nut free jerky’s.

I of course ordered the gluten free in regular and Thai version too! So let me cut to the chase, this by far is the best jerky I’ve had even as a meat eater in my opinion. I can’t explain how good this jerky is…really.

The smell imitates and even savors similar to meat jerky. Inside there are under 6 ingredients, and is consistent to what I need gluten free, nut free, and soy free.

The flavors start out well, each spice bouncing off your tongue as the jerky is chewed. The Thai flavor, is out of this world has a mix of spices all of its own.

The texture of this dark mushroom jerky is pieces of chewy and tough; that stuck in your teeth feeling, just like jerky.

So if you get the chance please grab a bag. You won’t be disappointed. I have been adding them to my on the road snacks for the family, road trips with various crackers and vegan cheese and even  along side my lunches.
